Dr Graeme Robson and his wife Dawn are long-time supporters of CARE Australia. The couple began their journey with CARE by supporting an education program in the rural highlands of Cambodia before expanding their support to other areas of CARE’s work.
Graeme says that the couple originally chose to support CARE as they felt there was a strong alignment with their values of respect for all cultures and also liked that CARE is an independent organisation without religious or political affiliation.
Over the years Graeme and Dawn have been able to see firsthand the life-changing impact of their support, meeting communities benefiting from CARE’s programs on field visits to Cambodia, Kenya, Vietnam and Laos.
“[These trips] made us aware of how thoughtful and thorough the CARE representatives are in these countries,” says Graeme. “In listening and learning of those in need of support; and in implementing the programs supporting their wishes.”
Inspired by the brighter futures the support of Australians are making possible for some of the world’s poorest communities, both Graeme and Dawn have generously chosen to leave bequests to CARE in their Will:
“We were very impressed [by CARE’s work]. CARE has placed more emphasis on the education of women which we applaud. [Addressing poverty and inequality around the world] will be an ongoing challenge for many years to come, so making provisions in both our Wills for bequests to CARE continues to foster the desires we currently have in improving children’s opportunities for a more fulfilling life.”
